OK ladies, do you want a ski that is designed specifically for
you? Well then, you're in the right place. Most ski companies
have cottoned on to this by now and have teams of women creating
and testing products specifically for women.
Anatomical differences between men and women include having a
centre of mass that is generally lower and behind that of a mans.
This means that if skiing on a 'universal' ski, you could possibly
find yourself behind the centre point, leading to increased diffilculty
in controlling the ski (ever heard "you're skiing in the
back seat", "stand up more", "lean forward",
etc.?). Also, most women tend to be not quite as aggressive as
men, hence they don't require as stiff a ski.
Women specific skis tend to counter these issues by varying the
construction and design of the ski to accomodate the differences.
They also usually have graphics that are designed by women for
women. With all this said, female-specific skis are not just
toys, they are still REAL skis adapted to the needs of women.
